You donโ€™t have to navigate this alone. Support is available for your child and your family.

Starting psychiatric care for your child or teen can feel overwhelming. At ARMOR Behavioral Health, our goal is to create a supportive, collaborative experience where families feel heard, informed, and comfortable throughout the process.

Before Your Appointment

Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive intake paperwork through the patient portal. These forms help gather important background information about your childโ€™s emotional, behavioral, medical, developmental, and family history.

Please complete all forms prior to your appointment so we can make the most of our time together.

Treatment Planning

Every child is different, and treatment recommendations are individualized based on your childโ€™s needs and goals.

Treatment may include:

  • medication management

  • collaboration with therapists, speech/occupational therapists, or pediatricians

  • lifestyle and wellness support

  • parent guidance and education

  • discussion of sleep, nutrition, routines, and other factors that can impact mental health

Medication is never the only focus of care. The goal is to support your childโ€™s overall emotional well-being, functioning, and long-term resilience.

What to Expect

Initial psychiatric evaluations are conducted virtually and typically last about 60 minutes.

During the appointment, we will discuss:

  • current concerns and symptoms

  • emotional and behavioral patterns

  • school and social functioning

  • medical and developmental history

  • sleep, routines, stressors, and overall wellness

  • previous treatment experiences

Parents and caregivers are an important part of the process and are encouraged to participate in appointments.
